Overview |
This diploma is a highly regarded program that provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to manage practice and lead others in children and young people’s services. This qualification is perfect for those who have stepped up into leadership and management roles. The aim of the Children and Young People’s Management pathway is to guide and assess the knowledge and skills relating to the Children and Young People’s senior workforce. If you work in the Children and Young People’s sector in a managerial role, this is the ideal qualification for you. You may be looking to develop your career, possibly into management within the broader context of the Children and Young People’s sector. It has two pathways: • Management • Advanced Practice Those pathways are named in the Apprenticeship Standard for Children, Young People and Families Manager. The Management pathway is suitable for Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers working in day or domiciliary services who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for Managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level. The Advanced Practice pathway is geared towards senior practitioners who would like to develop their career but wish to remain active practitioners in the management framework. The two pathways cover a wide range of topics including: • Safeguarding and protection • Developing and carrying out policy • Managing care services, change programmes and recruitment • Promoting and developing best practice • Supporting development and partnership working • Care management • Quality systems and improvement |

Entry Requirements | – Learners must be at least 19 years of age. – Learners must have high school degree or equivalent qualification – Learners who are proficient in English language skills (Intermediate Level) – It is also recommended that learners hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a related area. |
Assessment | All units will be internally assessed in line with the Skills for Care and Development Assessment Strategy using a range of methods which could include: – Inference of knowledge from direct observation of practice – Expert witness evidence when directed by the sector skills assessment strategy – Portfolio of evidence or a task set by us. * *NB: assessment tasks are provided for Tutors’ convenience. They are not mandatory. |
